I am the Light of the World - Rebekah

Read the following verses:

Genesis 24:12-67

How does scripture describe Rebekah? What stands out to you about Rebekah? What characteristics do you see in Rebekah?

Genesis 25:19-34

Why are Jacob and Esau so different? What decisions does Rebekah make when raising her sons? Does she have a favorite and why? Do Rebekah's actions have consequences on others?

Genesis 27

How does Rebekah's actions affect her sons lives? Would you have done the same? What are some thing about American culture that we should break free from (ex. the way we dress, the word we say, the movies we chose to watch, the friends we choose to keep, etc.)?

Main Point -

What choices did Rebekah make in her life that made her stand out as a light to the world? Did she fit in or did she stand out? What made her so special?

- Courage to do what was right

- Obedience to God

- Willingness to put God first in her life

Activity -

Describe a moment where you showed obedience. Describe a moment where you showed a willingness to put God first in your life.

Are you standing out? Are you willing to obey God over everything else? Do you put God first in school, work, friends? Do you love God above everything else? Do you have something that you are not willing to give up for God? (ex. a favorite football team, sports, etc.)

Prayer - Pray that God help us to stand out like Rebekah. With Courage, Obedience, and Willingness to serve.
