I am the Light of the World - David

Read the following verses:
I Samuel 17:1-58

How does scripture describe David? What stands out to you about David? What characteristics do you see in David? What attitude did he have towards God?

II Samuel 11:1-27

What is David tempted by? What decisions does David make? What consequences are there for David and Urriah in this story? Is what David does good?

I Samuel 13:14

David is called a man after Gods own heart yet he is also a murderer and an adulterer. How can this be? Does this show the extent of God's love and mercy? Is there anything God cannot forgive if asked? READ Psalms 103. What does David say about God's forgiveness and love?

Main Point -

What choices did David make in his life that made him stand out as a light to the world? Did he always make the right decision? Then how is he still called a man after God's own heart? What made him so special?

When was the last time you were humble? When was the last time you were humbled by somebody? Has pride ever stood in your way? explain.

Do you have a hard time letting go of sin? Do you have a hard time knowing you are forgiven? Do you tend to worry a lot? Are you someone who is truly humble before God?

Prayer - Pray that God help us to stand out like David. With Courage, heart, and humility.
